Medical Grade Fitness.
Training that starts with a measurement.
MODE Lab is one-to-one training in the Sutherland Shire. Every program starts from an assessment, so what you do next is based on what your body actually showed — not on what a template assumed.
What MODE stands for
- Metabolic
- The chemical processes that keep you running, tracked consistently over time.
- Optimisation
- Finding the thing that is actually holding you back, and working on that first.
- Design
- A program shaped around how you move, what you want and the time you have — built to reduce injury risk rather than accumulate it.
- Engineering
- Structure, load and progression applied deliberately, then adjusted as you change, so training gets harder without getting riskier.
How it works
Measure, interpret, then train. In that order.
We measure
A movement screen, a strength assessment and a body composition scan. This takes a session, and it gives us a base line to build from.
We talk it through
You get told what the numbers showed, in plain language, along with what that tends to point to and what we can do about it in the gym.
We build the program
The program is built to answer what the assessment found. We re-assess as we go, so progress is something that is measured, not just felt.
What you get told
You are informed, not diagnosed.
MODE Lab is an exercise science practice, not a clinic. An assessment tells us what a movement or a number looks like, and what that generally points to. Where something needs a clinician, you get told that too, and pointed to your GP.
For example
What we measured
Your strength assessment shows the muscles around your left shoulder blade are working a lot less than the right.
What that generally points to
A gap like that usually means one side is doing more of the work in overhead movements. Closing it is a common place to start.
What we do about it
We add work that builds strength through that range, keep the loading sensible, and re-test in four weeks to see whether the gap has closed.

A pack bundles the baseline scan, the written program, the sessions and a check-in into one price — for less than those parts cost bought one at a time.

Where
Kareela now, Como soon.
Commercial gym
Kareela NSW 2232
A full commercial gym floor, with the heavier equipment and the wider range of machines. Every session runs here at the moment. Venue details are confirmed with you when you book.
Private studio
Opening soonComo NSW 2226
A private, one-to-one space — no queue for equipment and no audience, which helps if training in a busy gym is the thing that has been putting you off. It is not open yet. Ask about it when you book and you will hear when it is.
Start with the assessment.
The first session tells us where you are. Everything after that is built on it.
